K. Folkard

"Award-winning author known for weaving intricate tales of fantasy and suspense."

Kieran Folkard was born in Hull in 1988, a city shaped by industry, tide, and quiet endurance. He grew up surrounded by stories—some told, many unspoken—where history lingered in buildings, family memory, and the weight of what had come before. From an early age, books became both refuge and compass, offering worlds that felt deeper and more truthful than the present moment.

In adulthood, he lives in Liverpool, a city whose layered past and resilient character echo his own interests in history, myth, and survival. There, he works as a carer, supporting people through vulnerability, illness, and loss. The work is demanding and intimate, rooted in patience, responsibility, and trust, and it offers a close view of human fragility—and human strength—that continues to inform his writing.

Alongside his caring work, Kieran is a collector and student of old books, drawn particularly to nineteenth- and early twentieth-century literature. He has developed a deep respect for books not merely as texts, but as physical objects—carriers of memory, craft, and continuity. This interest has grown into antiquarian work, private collecting, and publishing, where preservation matters as much as storytelling.

Every story is a journey into the soul, a chance to see the world through another's eyes and find the magic hidden in the mundane.
